Swatches

I acquired a set of alcohol-based markers for my artistic projects and quickly realized that the colors displayed on the pen caps did not accurately represent the ink produced.

To address this inconsistency, I decided to create color swatches that include the corresponding color names and numbers, providing a clearer representation of what each marker offers.

Using cardboard as my medium, I crafted a collection of 60 uniform swatches. Each swatch was carefully outlined and cut with a Stanley knife. I then applied colour to the ends of the swatches, marking both thin and thick lines to showcase the ink's effects. To maintain cohesiveness, I paired each colour with a complementary hue.

These colours were organized into a grouping that I determined to be the most visually appealing. To secure the swatches, I used gold-coloured paper fasteners, and each was meticulously labelled by hand with its respective name and number.

The result is a visually clean and organized presentation, facilitating easy identification of the colours for future reference.
